| Biography |
During an unemployed and hot summer, in the year 2002 Vishtash decided it was time to start a new musical project, more fitting to his taste and attitude. The monicker was chosen to reflect his predominant inner thoughts and feelings: Illusion or Reality, in any case a disillusioned contemplation of life, of its lies, and the need to extend ones views to higher perspectives. What better choice than Chimera, in the current Italian language simultaneously in its meanings a mythological beast and a dream which never comes true? With the help of a close friend, Andrea D., on recording sessions and drum/keyboards programming, the project started as a one man band, and a few months later in early 2003 the first demo-cd Nothing but Illusion was released. Never stopping writing down new songs, the collaboration got more and more close and tight. So came the decision to let in Andrea D. as a permanent member of the band, considering the role he played for the new compositions. The result of this evolution in the band can be clearly heard in their music on the following demo-cd LIeFE, out in late 2004, which took big steps away from the black metal roots shown on the first release, to reach a more experimental approach, rich of blended atmospheres between lights and shadows, with the addition of electronic samples and giving more variety to the guitar riffing style. The activity of the band is going on, never playing live, and always working for new solutions. |
