Biography Where Grívf previously dealt with a crossover between Funeral Doom and Dark ambient, the musical sphere has now taken a turn towards more sinister, folk-inspired ambiences.
At present, I prefer to describe the music of Grívf as "Funeral Folk" - incorporating elements and moods of generic funeral doom metal, as well as heavy musical influences of "traditional" norse folk music.

The result creates a somewhat bleak atmosphere and gloomy lyrical universe, in which physical and psychial sensations of death plays a major role.
Interpretation of these sensations is an individual matter.

The object has from day one been clear - to create bleak, gloomy funeral doom metal and to tease (and eventually change) the emotions of others.

While Isar was writing and recording material for his (now deceased) ambient project late 2003, much of the early Grívf material was written.
However, the music first came to production and final refinement in the beginning of 2005.

Late 2005, Grívf caught the attention of the newly formed Serpent of Salvation, a label owned by the same person as the now deceased Blasting Black Semtex Attack.

A deal was struck, and on the 26th of August 2006, the full lenght CD entitled "Draugsrunor" was launched.

At present, Grívf is working on a crossover project with Myrkrheim and Sól, as well as another album to follow Draugsrunor. No dates or final names yet.
