Biography The project began in 2005 in Kelowna, BC, Canada. The demo "2005 Demo" under the project name "Demisolace" was recorded and released to friends in the area but due to over commitments the project was quickly closeted. Although he never had the idea of continuing the project, once Eirik made the successful journey of immigrating to Finland he came across the demos on his laptop and decided to re-record them and finally put them on display to the public under a new name. That was the self-titled release "BANE AND ILLUSION".

During the time of re-recording the demo tracks Eirik had also began to write new songs which will eventually pave the road to the Jan/Feb 2007 release "Honor the Fallen Steel".

The music is cold, atmospheric black metal with pagan/viking influences. The lyrics are generally about the fate of ancient mythological warriors and/or human life. The bane of destruction and the illusion of victory. The outcome of war and what it takes to become a hero. Also there are underlining themes of anti-Christianity and believing/fighting for your native land to keep what is rightfully your own.
