| Biography |
FrostThrone was started by Count VinterFaust in the Spring of 2006 in Rainelle West Virginia. With the use of a Home portable studio he recorded the First FrostThrone Demo "Frozen Wastelands". This demo was four songs which included two originals "Frozen WasteLands" and "Winter Moon". Also appearing on this demo was covers of "Quintessence" by DarkThrone and "Open the Gates" by Dark Funeral. This demo was circulated theough the texas underground after it was sent to a fan. Two weeks after the demo was done The Count went and recorded a full length Called "VinterFaust" due to the Fact that again he was the only one writing, playing, and recording on this album. This one included and re-recording of "Winter Moon". The Count wrote all the songs and played all instruments except for the drums,a drum machine was employed for this, and soon released it himself from his home. After another two weeks he recorded an E.P. called "Vrede av Frostherren" or "Wrath of the Frost Lord"(in English). The reason the title is put in Norwegian was his homage to the norwegian bands that had inspired him. This is the Last recording done at home by the Count.
In the summer of the same year,Wargoat of Plaguewielder was called upon to the fray to play drums for some shows.Wargoat is a childhood friend of The Count. In fact they went to high school together and ever since they first met had been playing together ever since. After these Shows the Count has played bass for plaguewielder and became a member full-time as well as Wargoat became the full-time drummer of FrostThrone. In the early weeks of 2007 Vultre VonDoom became the new bassist and was added to the line up as new fulltime member.
Through the Fall and Winter Months Wargoat and The Count have been writing new songs and recording a new demo called "Beyond the Dim" to be released in the spring. This demo was recorded at Lively Sound Studios in Lewisburg West Virginia and engineered by Dan Lively.
